Where does CNG fit in?
CompAir is made up of four main divisions; Industrial & Portables, High Pressure, Aftermarket & Service, and Hydrovane. The CNG business lies within the High Pressure division.
CompAir has CNG interests in most Countries, including refueling stations, High Pressure Sales offices and Agents & Distributors.
History of CNG at CompAir
- 1980
- CompAir supplies its first private CNG refueling station in New Zealand
- 1981
- CompAir supplies its first public forecourt CNG refueling station in New Zealand
- 1982
- CompAir installs a CNG refueling station at its own works in Ipswich, UK. 9 CNG compressors are supplied to New Zealand.
- 1983
- CompAir supplies 26 CNG compressors to New Zealand including two for BP Gas.
- 1984
- CompAir installs a CNG station at Miami International Airport, USA for operating 70 miscellaneous airport vehicles. CompAir installs 20 CNG stations in New Zealand.
- 1985
- CompAir supplies 27 CNG compressors to New Zealand including 6 for Shell Oil and 2 for BP Gas. In the USA, North Miami City operate a CompAir CNG station to fuel its garbage collection vehicles.
- 1986
- 30 CNG compressors are supplied for installation at private and public refueling stations in New Zealand.
- 1987
- ONGC India purchase 2 CompAir CNG stations for a pilot project. A further 4 CNG stations are installed in New Zealand.
- 1988
- Blackburn County Council install a CompAir CNG station to fuel 11 vehicles, the first NGV fleet in the UK. CompAir is awarded the contract to supply Gas and Fuel Corporation, Australia with CNG stations.
- 1989
- Gaz de France install a CNG compressor for a pilot plant near Nantes in France. Another 2 stations are supplied to Gas and Fuels Corporation, Australia.
- 1991
- 2 silenced CNG compressors are supplied by bc to Gaz de France to fuel a fleet of 150 vehicles. Gas and Fuels Corporation, Australia install 5 more bc CNG stations.
- 1992
- CompAir supply a purpose built CNG package to Goteborg Energi to refuel 21 buses in Sweden.
- 1993
- British Gas award CompAir the contract to supply, install and commission complete CNG refueling stations at Southampton and Dudley sites in the UK.
- 1994
- CompAir supplies a CNG compressor to Toho Gas & Japan Steel Works in Japan. CNG stations are supplied by CompAir to Bangladesh and China.
- 1995
- The first independent CNG refueling station in the UK is owned by Eastern Gas and located at Ipswich. CompAir supply CNG stations to Cuba and Belgium.
- 1996
- The largest UK CNG station is installed by CompAir at Southampton City Bus. CompAir installs a Gazpack 36 on the Royal Mail site in London, UK. CompAir supply 4 CNG stations to Tractors for Petronas, Malaysia.
- 1997
- British Gas sign an exclusive agreement with CompAir for the supply of all CNG refueling equipment for their expanding UK gas station network. Charles de Gaulle Airport, France order a CompAir Gazpack 9 compressor.
- 1998
- CompAir install 2 Gazpack 50 compressors for a bus depot in central Meaux, France. A further 4 compressors are installed for British Gas in the UK.
- 1999
- A further 3 NGV bus depots are established in France (2 Gazpack 70’s in Nancy, 2 Gazpack 50’s in Montbeliard and 2 Gazpack 50’s in Bordeaux) filling a total of 191 buses.
- 2000
- CompAir supply Brisbane City Council, Australia with its first bus depot CNG station (4 Gazpack 70 compressors).
- 2001
- The Pakistan NGV business increases dramatically with 45 Gazpack 37 compressors sold in 2001, mainly for public filling stations.
- 2002
- CompAir supply 5 Gazpack 50 compressors to Petronas, Malaysia for public refueling stations in and around Kuala Lumpur. CompAir supply a further 61 Gazpack 37 compressors to Pakistan and a further 2 into Bangladesh.
- 2003
- CompAir receives an order for its first Gazpack for Poland. Brisbane City Council orders 4 more Gazpack 70 compressors for a second bus depot. Onyx, France win the tender for Paris refuse collection and ask CompAir to supply 4 Gazpack 70 compressors for 2 depots in the city.
- 2004
- CompAir consolidates its market leadership in Australia, UK and Pakistan (another 50 compressors), while continuing to break into new markets with its first Gazpack into Germany, a further 3 Gazpacks for Poland and 3 Gazpacks for Brazil. 2004 also sees the official opening of the Shanghai CompAir-Dalong HP Equipment Co. Ltd, a joint venture with Shanghai Electric for the Chinese market. CompAir-Dalong starts well with their first 4 Gazpack compressors manufactured in 2004.
- 2005
- CompAir continue their dominance of the Pakistan market with a further 89 Gazpack 37 compressors sold or in build. CompAir expand their growth into Poland with a further 2 Gazpack 37 compressors and 3 more Gazpack 9 compressors. CompAir also obtain orders for a further 4 Gazpack 70 compressors in Australia. CompAir increase their market share in China with a further 4 compressors sold.
