CompAir offers a full range of energy efficient and environmentally friendly compressed air dryers, such as refrigerant dryers, heatless and heated desiccant dryers as well as HOC dryers.
Air is a colourless, odourless, tasteless mixture of many gases, primarily nitrogen and oxygen. It is naturally contaminated with solid particles, such as dust, sand, soot and salt crystals. The type of contamination varies depending on the environments and altitude.
Water vapour is another natural ingredient which can be found in variable amounts in the air. The amount of water vapour or any other contaminating products which the air contains plays a very important role in the quality of the end-product produced by your compressor system.
Aside from the end-product, water is well known to have damaging and corrosive effects on your compressor system. Untreated air at atmospheric pressure contains large amounts of water as well as other contaminants such as oil droplets and dirt particles.
When the air is compressed, the concentration of moisture and other contaminants increases. If allowed to remain in the system, this corrosive mixture has a detrimental effect on pneumatic equipment, causing unnecessary production downtime, product spoilage and reduced equipment life.
Compressed air filters are responsible for removing the oil and dirt content from the compressed air whilst air dryers are used to remove water vapour before the air reaches the point of use.
Safe operation / protect your investment
Untreated air can cause corrosion and damage to your pipework and the internal structure of your air compressor. This can eventually lead to a system breakdown, costing you time and money. An air dryer will help to keep your system running damage-free and your operation safe and reliable with long term results.
High-quality end-product / peace of mind
Whatever your application, you need to be sure that your end-product is of a high quality. Air that contains water vapour can cause product spoilage which can be very costly to businesses. An air dryer ensures that air is pure and dry before it reaches the point of use.
Refrigerant dryers are the most common type of drier technology used by many industries. As the name suggests, heat exchangers are used to cool compressed air which will condense the bulk amount of water vapour within the air. Once the compressed air is cooled and water is removed, the air is reheated to around room temperature to ensure no more vapour forms within the pipe system.
CompAir refrigerant dryers are characterised by their energy efficiency, which helps to reduce running costs thanks to their patented heat exchanger technology.
For CompAir, quality and efficiency are just as important for compressed air treatment as they are for compressed air generation.
Just like CompAir compressors, the CD-Series refrigerant dryers also provide a consistently high performance with optimum efficiency for many industrial compressed air applications. They are carefully selected depending on working conditions with continuous dew point monitoring enabling reliable operation with the lowest possible pressure losses and running costs. When it comes to compressed air treatment, modern, reliable technology and compact dimensions make the CD-Series the preferred choice for every application.
The CD-series refrigerant dryers deliver a comprehensive, cost-effective solution to multiple applications across a wide range of sectors including automotive, manufacturing, petrochemical, oil and gas, dry cleaning and light processing to name a few.
Impressive return on investment and operational reliability
The use of clean dry compressed air ensures high levels of reliability, guarantees that quality standards are met, and can reduce production costs. CompAir offer a range of solutions for drying utilising modern cooling technology, the CD series cater for a wide range of airflows with models from CD4F to CD1920F covering air flow rates from 0.42 m³/min to 191.67 m³/min.

High-performance desiccant air treatment
Desiccant dryers work on the principle of moisture always migrating to the driest medium possible. Therefore, water vapour is removed from compressed air by passing it over an adsorbent desiccant material. As the air contacts the adsorbent material, water vapour transfers from the wet air to the dry desiccant, however, adsorbent materials have a fixed adsorption capacity and once this capacity is reached, they must be regenerated or replaced. Therefore, to provide a continuous supply of clean, dry compressed air, adsorbent dryers utilise two chambers of desiccant material and at any one time, whilst one chamber is on-line, drying the incoming compressed air, the other is either off-line, being regenerated or is re-pressurised, ready to come on-line.
All desiccant dryers remove water in this manner. The energy consumed by a desiccant dryer can be directly attributed to the method used to regenerate the adsorbent material. The CompAir A-Series dryers utilise the heatless PSA method to regenerate the adsorbent material. (Please download the brochure to learn more about this process).
The new downstream portfolio manufactured by CompAir utilising the latest technology, provides an energy efficient solution at lowest life cycle costs. The same quality, performance and efficiency standards delivered by the compressors can now be enjoyed from the air treatment range.
Investment in a manufacturing site in addition to the support teams, ensures that compressed air operators don’t need to worry about the quality of their compressed air – quality that is key to ensuring maximum production efficiency and investment protection.
