Lambers-Seghers Improves Production Reliability with Data-Driven Compressed Air Optimisation
Lambers-Seghers, a leading Belgian animal feed manufacturer, expanded production and faced increasing compressed air demand. Using real-time monitoring through CompAir iConn and SmartAir Master, engineers analysed operational data and identified the optimal system configuration. The installation was upgraded with a CompAir L45FCRS compressor, improving energy efficiency, restoring operational redundancy and supporting future production growth. The project delivered approximately €82,800 in lifetime energy savings, reduced electricity consumption by 550,000 kWh and avoided around 126 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

The Challenge
To support increasing production volumes, Lambers-Seghers added a new production line that required significantly more compressed air for conveying and mixing processes. The existing installation consisted of two CompAir L22RS compressors and one CompAir L37RS compressor.
Monitoring data revealed several critical issues:
- Compressors were operating close to maximum capacity.
- Equipment regularly experienced elevated operating temperatures.
- Compressed air demand continued to increase.
- The installation no longer provided sufficient capacity or operational redundancy.
The compressor room also presented installation challenges due to limited space and a highly dusty manufacturing environment.
The Solution
Using data collected through iConn and SmartAir Master, engineers analysed actual operating conditions and identified the most suitable system configuration. Based on the measured demand profile, the installation was upgraded with an additional CompAir L45FCRS compressor to improve capacity, efficiency and reliability
